So a friend of mine from High School moved to Portland with his person, and I guess a neighbor was watching her for a while, and left in their backyard a canister that was like opening the mouth of madness.
Been working on finishing the story section of Symbiosis before moving on to paste-up/pre-press. This image went out to backers with a recent update. Also, I was asked to put up “Falling" in a Society of Illustrators show. So that’s exciting. (I think? Right?)
So I made an update to the Symbiosis Kickstarter page showing off the blank dummy book, and how fancy it is. Enjoy.
I doubt this is some kind of novel thought, but I had a weird realization that just like how cheap clothing moved fashion from the realm of the rich to the middle class and the poor, social media has done the same with maintaining a personal image. Now everyone can fabricate these low-rent versions of maintaining a celebrity image of home, social and work life. Even while you’re actually miserable, ( or just “ok”) everyone can think you are blazingly happy because of a carefully curated media stream.
Dunno if that’s good or bad; probably neither and both.
